Government of India must initiate talks with Irom Sharmila, says released activists By Newzfirst 10/28/11 Email Print
IMPHAL - All the activists of Jan Karwan (People’s Caravan) were released in the evening. Manipur Police had arrested them Friday morning while they were attempting to meet Irom Sharmila at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital here. Earlier in the Friday morning, all 25 members of Jan Karwan (People’s Caravan) had reached to JN Hospital where Irom Sharmila is being treated. Denial of permission from the Police, activists staged peaceful sit in front of the Hospital entrance demanding the opportunity to meet Irom Sharmila. As activists insisted for either permission to visit or to arrest, Police had arrested them finally. Speaking to newzfirst, Mr. Faizal Khan, convener of the caravan said, “Through this caravan we have educated larger section of society about the draconian AFSPA; this is not the end of struggle. The social conditions are very much grave here. Now, we demand Government of India to initiate talks with Irom Sharmila in this regard.” Save Sharmila Solidarity Campaign (SSSC) had organized a Jan Karwan from Jammu to Imphal to support Irom Sharmila, a Manipuri humanist, poet and activist who has been on a fast for 11 years for repeal of AFSPA. The Caravan after covering 10 states had reached Imphal. The Caravan led by Faisal Khan of NAPM had people from different parts of the country. The Nazis got these lists with the help of IBM which was in the 'census' business that included racial census that entailed not only count the Jews but also identifying them. At the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC, there is an exhibit of an IBM Hollerith D-11 card sorting machine that was responsible for organising the census of 1933 that first identified the Jews.* * * *http://saynotoaadhaar.blogspot.com/* *http://aadhararticles.blogspot.com/* *http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_162987527061902&ap=1*<http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_162987527061902&ap=1> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "humanrights movement" group.
