Subject: Time to review existing economic models and its adjunct the
international system imposing war , poverty and religious or sectarian strife
destroying human rights of millions
Dear Colleagues ,
As more than one economy unravels , whatever the spin of the global
corporate media , it is time to carefully review the systems and policies which
have led to one of the most serious financial and economic collapses in
world history, still ongoing , devastating the human rights of citizens in
several countries .
All societies based on the dominant model have degenerated . The decline is
social , cultural , political and economic with brutal killings of millions
through war or hunger .Few can defend the political and social orders of
which they are a part, though there are a few honorable exceptions, facing
their own difficulties. However societies which are exceptions are themselves
in a state of siege , increasingly threatened by world centers of the
fascist business model .
Human rights of whole societies have been destroyed by war and occupation
which is ongoing , with the UN Human Rights Council , the Security Council and
funded Human Rights Organizations silent on bombing operations and seizure of
resources of millions , while selectively focusing their debates and reports
on those societies which have been targeted for the next occupation , where
civil strife is being deliberately ignited through armed gangs infiltrated
from across international boundaries ,or through sectarian and religious
clashes and bombings to spread terror .
For those of us who saw it coming , it is not enough to gloat that we were
right , the alternatives political and economic have to be studied , researched
and reviewed , going back at least one century , with a view to move forward
.This will require a higher political culture, and not the debased political
discourse which we are witnessing all over the world .
The irreligious are those who devastate and misappropriate, distort religion
, monopolizing the resources of whole societies , to prevent citizens from
accessing basic needs and opportunities, while discriminating against
citizens on the basis of an accident of birth or economic circumstances, namely
class , race, religion , region or caste .
Endless growth and unlimited consumption cannot be the economic objectives of
a planet where resources are required to be recycled , renewed and
conserved, as distinguished from the necessary development to meet the
requirements of any civilized society in particular in regions denied
development .
What kind of development, why and for whom , are questions which must be
answered on a priority basis , including on revenues required to flow into
the national exchequer to meet the needs of society as a whole , while
disallowing disproportionate wealth which inevitably strangulates political
democracy .
Globally it is the immediate democratization of the present International
system which people demand , not old or new super powers or their currencies
dominating the world .
Governments which are represented in military forces such as NATO , among
other military contingents occupying regions , cannot claim that they are not
members of a military pact , as military alliances for occupation are either
overt or covert , including secret treaties . Contributing a military
contingent for occupation, amounts to serving Imperial financial
interests.Further governments and movements cannot selectively support bombing
operations and intervention in some countries by NATO and allied forces ,
while opposing intervention in others .
Movements opposing war , need to establish their credibility by equally
opposing economic and political policies which are an integral part of
Imperial policy , including the permanent subsidies from national budgets for
the armament industry and military commands and bases astride the globe ,
requiring immediate dismantling in the interests of the sovereignty of people
of these countries and regions .
