Dear Ravichandra Bathran ,
Thank you for forwarding .
The reaction from Dr.Brian Senewiratne is relevant input for all of us .In
South Asia , countries which adopted the ' Washington Consensus ' as a
pattern of neoliberal economic growth , have resorted to hard or soft fascism
within, as one aspect of the policy was 'dispossession', that is seizure of
land , habitat, forest resources , rights and water resources, and the other ,
excluding working people and the peasantry from the benefits of the national
budget and revenues , even as they contributed to GDP and to indirect taxes .

US resolution offers bailout to Rajapaksa: Brian Senewiratne
The US-tabled resolution, which has more to do with geopolitics than human
rights, “effectively offers Rajapaksa a way of ending international criticism
and the danger of government leaders and its Armed Forces facing war crimes
charges,” says Brian Senewiratne, a renowned physician and an Australia based
Sinhala expatriate in a 41-page long document released on Thursday. “Concerned
people, in particular the expatriate Tamil community, waiting for the UN ‘to do
something’, are living in a dream world. The UN and its bodies do not act this
way. They never have – an abysmal record of failure, which is not about to
change.” However, the latest follow-up documentary by the Channel-4 could be
even more damaging for the GoSL than the previous one, according to Dr. Brian
Senewiratne.

Dear Friends
The Channel 4 video entitled "Sri Lanka's killing Fields: War Crimes
Unpunished" which was shown at 10.55 pm (London time) yesterday is not
available on their website for free viewing.
As I was browsing on the Internet, I found out that this video is available
on You Tube. Given below you will find the web link of the same. Channel 4 may
make this video available for free viewing/circulation soon or at a later date
as per their own convenience. In the meantime, you could watch this video on
You Tube. You Tube may even remove it from their website if it is objected by
Channel 4 for violation of copyrights. So without wasting any time, you do
spare sometime out of your busy schedule and watch this video.

The circulation of this information is purely for creating larger awareness
on the issues related to war crimes and crimes against humanity. Human rights,
justice and accountability must be ensured in Sri Lanka.
