It has been reported that Stratfor had an extensive network of gathering of
intelligence for Wall Street , London City among other financial centers
.However this is not new , in Mumbai the financier classes and castes set
themselves up to gather private and personal intelligence on individuals and
organizations, none of whom were resorting to any clandestine activity for use
by Indian corporates and foreign intelligence organizations, including
Transnational Companies and embassies and one corporate house even set up an
Intelligence gathering unit with parasites recruited for this kind of activity
. Since all this activity was done for mercenary reward , fake intelligence was
also a part of the game , by projecting individuals at random as politically
dangerous etc .etc when all that those individuals were doing were
constitutional principles and activities. The financier lobby was in the
forefront of private wiring of offices and homes and telephones , with a
reporting system which included so called acquaintances , friends and even in
certain cases relatives .To enable information of how they operate , one had to
allow oneself to be kept under surveillance . Invasion of computers however is
now very common and resorted to by those who work for NGOs among others who
claim to be respectable and steal information and ideas !
The activities of Stratfor in running a corporate intelligence unit for bankers
and corporate houses is therefore not a new innovation , it has been around in
industrial cities such as Mumbai, Delhi among others , ever since the sixties
and this pattern has spread to neighbouring Gujarat among other regions
dominated by corporate houses .This activity is wholly illegal and criminal as
it is not activity which is authorized by State Intelligence Agencies , though
even as India's political parties are increasingly corporate controlled
individual , IB and even RAW have been used by the private intelligence
agencies of the financiers .
We are very advanced in India in some respects , in particular in illegal
surveillance activity violating privacy . Mr. Ratan Tata was probably not
aware that the Nira Radia tapes , was the doing of the financiers and
corporate houses themselves . In this there is an irony, that the very
instrument of corporate and financier harassment of individuals, of which
some of us were victims only because of our honesty of intent when the city
was plunged into a pogrom and even earlier as our views on maintaining the
honesty of the political and democratic system was resented by financiers
,was equally used to publish the shenanigans of the corporate and financial
sector locked in grim rivalries , as a consequence the country received
valuable information of the subversion of some political formations by special
financial interests .
The private intelligence outfit operate like a mafia organization . Mumbai the
city where several major Corporate Houses have their headquarters , is also the
center of decision making of a covert criminal nature against citizens . So we
in India were ahead of STRATFOR as the financiers and corporate sector post
their informers everywhere , including among Lawyers and other professional
bodies , despite the mandate of confidential professional communications and
notwithstanding the Constitution of India .Illegal electronic surveillance is
the now the rule .
Whether we are a democracy where State functions are taken over by private
financiers and corporate bodies , is debatable .
