Inaugural Address by : Teesta Setalvad 
Felicitating Justice Rajinder Sachar, Former PUCLPresident and Ex Chief Justice 
of the Delhi High Court; 

We
are extremely pleased to invite you for the eleventh National Convention of the
PUCL which will be held in  Jaipur on 1-2
December 2012. This will be organised at Swami Kumaranand Bhawan, , Hathroi
Gadh. The
main theme of the convention is  "Increasing People's insecurity in the
name of national security: Citizens' Rights, Democracy and State
terrorism". ( please see details for agenda)

The morning session will begin at 10.30 am in which  conference will be 
inaugurated by editor of Communalism Combat Teesta Setalvad. 
Justice Sachar who has worked for nine decades for human rights will be 
felicitated  by the PUCL. The Speakers  for the morning session will be 
PUCL president Prabhakar Sinha, General Secretary  V.Suresh, PUCL president, 
Rajasthan Prem Krishna Sharma and  Aruna Roy.

The Ist Working Session will begin at 12 noon on Anti Democratic
Laws and Experiences of Combating State Terrorism with
special emphasis on anti-Sedition laws, AFSPA, UAPA and IT Act.  The next one 
at 3pm on the Politics of Coummnalism and 
Terrorism and the struggles for Justice and Humanity and the next 
session at 5.30 on the Politics of Resource Grab in the name of 
Development. 

On Day II we will begin with a session on Reimagining PUCL.    There will also 
be Book Release of a Book calledAdrishya Bharat,
On Manual Scavenging in India                                                   
Writer
: Bhasha Singh, and published by Penguin India. The writer will be 
present on the ocassion. The PUCL conference will finish at 4.30pm on 
2nd.

event. 

Former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Justice Janardan Sahay, Supreme
Court senior advocates on Human Rights Ravi Kiran Jain, Advocate Sanjay Pareek,
Advocate Usha Ramanathan, Advocate N.D. Pancholi, social activist Aruna Roy,
Dr. Binayak Sen, young journalist and writer Seema Azad with 300 and more
participants from 15 states of the country would be here at the convention.
