With Modi Sarkar in saddle different elements are coming up and asserting
the ideology of Sangh Parivar. After Modi talked about the great strides of
Plastic Surgey in ancient India in the form of successful transplant of
elephant’s head on human body in the form of Lord Ganesha, other leaders of
RSS are stating about the glories of ancient achievements. One of them,
Nishank, went on to say that Astrology is more advanced than modern
science. Many others are singing peens about different glorious
achievements of the past, the school syllabus is under the process of
change, Sanskrit has replaced the German and is also being introduced in
various schools, as the third language and RSS ideologues are working in
close laison with various ministeries. At the same time some of the
ministers are using abusive language for the religious minorities. One of
them, Sadhvi Jyoti, went on to say that all those who don’t regard Ram as
their ancestor are Haramjade’s (Illegitimate). The Government is defending
her under the fig leaf that she is new, she is a poor dalit, while ignoring
that she has violated the very Constitution on which she had taken the
oath. Our Constitution uncompromisingly talks of equality of all,
irrespective of their religion. Surely Ram is a great mythological reality,
but the symbol of Indian Nationalism is undoubtedly Gandhi.
We are carrying the reports of different international and South Asian
initiatives for global peace and Secularism. We also reproduce javed Anands
review of Manisha Sethi’s book Kafkaland dealing with the prejudiced
behaviors of state.
