Hej Joanna,

that's a nice idea! Thank you very much for providing this info.

If you are living in that area: do you have any suggestions where to stay
for the Northwest Folklife Festival - I guess I mentioned we plan to travel
by RV - and I know it might be a good idea to make memorial day reservations
quite early to find a space for sure.

We already thought about hiring the RV at El Monte which is not on the
Canadian side of the border, so a trip to Seattle could be possible.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Best regards,

Uli

If you are going to be in Vancouver at the end of May you should consider
coming to Seattle for the Northwest Folklife Festival which is the largest
free Festival of its kind in North America. The hurdy gurdy players usually
get together to jam and there is an amazing amount and variety of music and
dancing for four days over our Memorial Day weekend.

Subject: [HG-new] HG players in BC / Alberta?

Hi everybody,

we are recently re-scheduling our vacation plans fort his year. Well, it may
be possible that we once more go to West Canada rather than following our
initial plan to go to Norway.

If we really decide for Canada, we probably spend a week in the Vancouver /
Vancouver Island area in the last week of May; afterwards we plan to stay
for a week or so in the parks Banff, Jasper, eventually Waterton. We plan
driving around in a Motorhome, so we are relative flexible.

Here's the request: are there any Hurdy-Gurdy players willing to meet us for
an evening? And: is there any recommendable event in that time between the
last week of July and the end of the 3rd week in June that might be of
interest for folkies like us? Btw: I'm not exclusively interested in HG
music, I also love Canadian/American singer-/songwriters like Stan Rogers,
Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Tom Paxton etc.

So if anyone has suggestions: any hint is highly welcome.

Thanks a lot,
Uli
