I'm no help on the exchange rate issue, but just as a tip for anyone who
needs to ship an instrument to Europe or other non-North-American
continents...I've found that shipping via the US Postal Service using what I
think
was called International Package Express is about half the cost (or less) of
either UPS or FedEx, and there was reliable delivery and tracking. I shipped
an accordion to Spain that way not long ago, and the shipping cost would
have been utterly ridiculous using UPS or FedEx. For anyone that wants to
know...

It does look gorgeous. Unfortunately the exchange rate at the moment
makes
anything from the US 50% dearer. Not even going to think about shipping on
something that size.
