To prevent spamming incidents such as those we have experienced in the past few months, I am now having postings by new list members held for my approval.
As so often happens, there are unintended consequences of this change in policy. It seems that the Google Groups software doesn't acknowledge some existing members and thinks they are new members. It also seems that it doesn't send me a notification when there's a posting to be approved (which it used to do). The consequence is that Simon (a longstanding list member) had his posts held for a week because I didn't know they were there. My apologies to you, Simon, for the inadequacies of the software. I will try to check the pending messages daily. If you post and don't see your message show up, please email me off-list at [email protected].
