Hi Barbara,

One of the easiest ways to get some of the more unusual time signatures into
your head is to find a word or set of words with the rhythm and repeat them to
get it set.  An example would be "Henry Kissinger" for 5/4 so if you say
Hen-ry-Kiss-in-ger, Hen-ry-Kiss-in-ger you get 12-123, 12-123.  One of my
favorites came from John and Anna Peekstok of Telynor.  They were learning a
new tune from I believe eastern europe.  The mnemonic they came up with to get
the irregular rhythm was "eat 'em up nemesis alligator, eat 'em up nemesis
alligator, alligator."  So 123, 123, 1234, 12, 123, 1234, 1234.

Hope this makes sense.  You can get the feel and count very easily doing this
and the sillier they are the easier they are to remember. :-)
