I'm forwarding this to the list in case there are other interested
parties:

On Friday G.F. and Penny Cloud will be part of a cast of hundreds in
Old Sacramento
for Gold Rush Days. They will be playing French music, mostly from the
18th and
19th centuries. Penny plays hurdy gurdy and G.F. plays guitar and
diatonic accordion.
On Friday 9/4 from 12:45-1:45 they are at the Embarcadero stage at I
st. and from
2:15pm-3pm they are at 2nd and J st. On Monday 9/7 they are from 11am-
noon at 2nd
and Jst. and from 2pm-3pm on 2nd between K and L streets. Everything
is free. Many
actors, musicians, dancers, re-enactors, hundreds of horses and
wagons, gold panning
and the streets are covered with soil and the signs are hidden under
burlap bags.
The costumes are authentic and it is as close to the gold rush as you
can imagine.
We have played this event for many years, and it never fails to amaze
me what a
great job they do and how few people know about it. The weather is
perfect this
year...we hope to see you there.
