Thanks, Mitch! And you remind me that I failed to make it clear that
I'm not wholly unconnected with the folks behind the AEPEM website,
which is one reason for my frustration over the site's use of the
amateurish Myriad software. But as noted yesterday, there's always the
option of using just the MIDI files from the site, which can be imported
into notation software to print out the "dots." I personally can put up
with a little inconvenience to use a site that gives me access to more
than 2,800 French traditional tunes.
You also mention the absence in North America of the two latest AEPEM
CD's. We keep the pricing of the CD's within reach by saving on
shipping costs, and our last shipment (which included those two CD's)
was aborted in the general chaos in air traffic after the volcano. The
next is scheduled for August, which will miss Lark Camp but make Over
the Water.

It's a nice site, and as always, a wonderful little recording label
from France with great, recent French trad recordings, available at a
reasonable price in North America. Thank goodness for our friends Jean
Michel Peru and Jacques Lanfranchi, who have done such a nice job with
AEPEM.
I should point out a few things, however, about the AEPEM site:
- It's all in French
- If you want to see an English language version, with some
(admittedly biased but hopefully helpful) reviewing from me, go to my
website (www.frenchtradmusic.com <http://www.frenchtradmusic.com>) and
click on the AEPEM/Claudie Schiller music tab
- frenchtradmusic.com has sound clips, I don't think the AEPEM site does
- If you are in the US and want to order these recordings, our good
friends Martin Lodahl (hmm...I detect his email address somewhere in
this message!!) and his wife Claudie Schiller are your source
([email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>). If you are in
Europe, use the AEPEM email address ([email protected]
<mailto:[email protected]>) or the order form on their website.
- I haven't got the two latest recordings described on
frenchtradmusic.com yet ("Violons du Cézallier" or "De grand matin")
but hopefully I'll have that changed soon.
