My cousin on Facebook posted a cool old clip of Newcastle miners doing a rapper dance. This, of course, led me to search hurdy gurdy (cos that's what I do), which brought up barrel organs and a Dutch band organ and this, French dancers w/gurdy in a ceremony laying the foundation stone for the Paris Exhibition of 1937. http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=77390There is another clip called Musical Instruments that has a lovely old gurdy apparently being picked clean of lice about a minute and a half in.
