Scott Gayman made a series of tutorial videos, that are on youtube, which
you may find helpful:

Mitch,
Sounds like you and Alden agree on the wrist position. I'll work on
that.
Between examining your video and Alden's words I think I understand it.
I liked your video! It's all nice, bright, happy stuff, and even seeing
other
players helps me. Thanks for the feedback!
Zach

Hi Zack -
Your left-hand technique looks quite good! Nice job.
For the right hand, I'm sure you'll get a lot of suggestions from people
on the
listserve. The main one that jumps out at me from your video is that your
right
hand needs to be in line with the arm, not pointing down at an angle.
Possibly
you're a bit long-limbed, like me, and the gurdy ends up a bit close. A
suggestion that Tobie gave me in her class for dealing with the body
geometry
of a long-armed person is to get the crank end of the instrument up higher
on
your body. Have a look at me (in the brown t-shirt) in this video of a
recent
session
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsiuvk-g3XM&feature=player_embedded#at=20).
I'm playing with it propped up on a knee these days. An important benefit
to me
of this position is it puts my arm in the right position to do the third
buzz on
the coup de quatre, which is achieved with a push from the arm.
Of course I realize that now I've posted a video of myself playing, and
I'm
going to get critiques of my right hand technique!!
Don't be too critical of your right hand playing...it's going to take
awhile to
develop it.

Is it acceptable to ask for playing advice here too? I posted a video
on
youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgh9Ddu1HWc There's a lot to learn,
but I'm
enjoying the instrument so far. Getting all the different coups down
has
been surprisingly difficult. I've watched some videos on them, but I'm
still
having trouble getting them remotely as clean or consistent as the
experts.
Any advice on how to get the knack?
