Hello to all. I have been lurking on this group for about a year so I figured it was time to introduce myself.
I live in northern Delaware, USA. I play the tekero as well as a number of Balkan instruments, and I sing Hungarian, Georgian, Russian, and American folk music. :) I have a beautiful Nagy Balazs tekero which, unfortunately, will not play any longer. I think it's because the drive shaft is slightly warped. it also needs major maintenance with the tangents and strings. I've tried to contact Balazs to see if I can send it to him for maintenance, but I've not heard back from him. Balazs, are you on this group? I know there have been a number of posts about Folk College. As it turns out, I will be driving to see my parents in northwestern Pennsylvania that weekend and Huntingdon is sort of on my way there. Can someone send me the details offlist? It might be worth stopping by, especially if someone there can help me get my tek working again. Or, if someone is in the Philadelphia or Baltimore area, that would be great too. Nice to meet everyone. - Michael -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "hurdygurdy" group.
