This can also caused by the cotton not sitting tightly on the string,
especially the first chantrelle. I get this when I have been too lazy to ensure
there is enough rosin on the string. How I get rid of excess rosin on the wheel
is to use a soft duster , or my shirt, and press hard on the wheel and turn the
handle (with no strings on) for as long as it takes to satisfy me. Good luck JON

Subject: [HG-new] Resin buildup?

Lately I've been getting warbling, or vibrato, especially on the lower
chanter (I have C/G octave tuning).  I've been very careful about not
touching the wheel, so I don't think it's that.  My guess is there is
an uneven buildup of resin on the wheel.  What is the best way of
fixing this?
