Hi guys,

It's time for you to start booking and me to start planning for Folk
Gathering in September (www.folkgathering.com). We will have a
pavilion to ourselves and for a couple of workshops, and I'm hoping
you will all mix in with the other players and workshops (I recommend
"Tunes that are Cooler than They are Hard" - it has a couple of
gurdy-friendly tunes).

I'm planning to lead (notice I say "lead", not "teach"!) a couple of
repetoire workshops, so please let me know if there are any particular
tunes you would like to learn or share so that I can work up some
teaching materials. Let me know if you have any other ideas for
workshops, and if you would be willing to lead the workshop.

As you know, Augusto de Ornellas Abreu is coming all the way from
Brazil! That means we need a good turnout to show him some good
American hospitality, so please keep this in mind when you decide to
register.

This is an outdoor/camping weekend, but there are excellent
toilet/shower facilities, and the catering is excellent. There is
provision for RV parking, if you are so fortunate. We also have full
use of the large Visitor Center and a large two-room barn for the
other workshops, plus the nearby Church (Sunday morning Hymn Sing), so
we can all move indoors if the weather is uncooperative.

Please let me know if you are coming, and please pass the word amongst
your friends, even the non-gurdy ones! The more the merrier, and it
will encourage the organizers if we bring in more people to the event.

David
