Hiya, Sounds like a great time, but I will not be able to attend the fall gathering.
And I traded away my little gurdy for a dulcimer.
Time to start saving pennies for one of Mel's boxes.

It's only a month away! September 16th - 18th at Greenwood Furnace State Park
in Central Pennsylvania (near State College).

And we have an instructor for the weekend!

Melissa Kacalanos ("Melissa the Loud") will be leading our all-day workshop on
Saturday. For the morning, after a short concert, she will begin by answering individual
questions, mostly about making all those small adjustments to a hurdy gurdy so it stays
playable. After that, we will work on playing techniques like buzzing in different
rhythms, share some tunes, and learn a bit about transposing and arranging tunes.

There will be plenty of time during the rest of the weekend to join in some of the other
classes during the day, (there's a Sunday workshop, "Tunes that are Cooler than They
are Hard" that has some great HG-friendly tunes), jamming in the evenings and
playing in the contradance band.

You can check the details at www.folkgathering.com. You'll find the schedule
for the other workshops and concerts, how to register, and how to book a
campsite for the weekend.

You can email me directly if you have any other questions.

Let's have a great turnout! This is our chance to show that we have the
support for regular workshops in the Eastern US.
