its not so easy to be precise in this case.

simply put, I'd say I'm not looking for modern folktunes.
where some of the characteristics are: you could play the tune (melody) on
an other insturment, in a different key, a different amount of times and it
will be the same tune.
whereas you have "compositions" that require a dedicated lineup of
instruments, tuning, form, length...
like Beethovens moonshine serenade, which I would call more a piano piece
and not a melody that is the same when played on a clarinet.
Am I enough confusing ;-)

Of course in some cases, the destinction might be hard. And I don't want to
decide which pieces is more this or more that. I think the composer who
sends the information should be aware of these questions and be able to
decide by him/herself.
