The video is very interesting, thanks for the link. 
I've never seen that method for clamping the ribs to the mould . He appears to 
fit the ribs without bending them to shape which would make getting a good 
joint nigh impossible I'd have thought. 
The other " why didn't I think of that "  point was the extra material left at  
each end of the head when carving which would make holding the piece much 
easier.
Not sure my customers would be happy with the sound though and am surprised he 
didn't have a better set up instrument for his demonstration.
