Some nice Hungarian Tekero playing by Bela Szerényi and Family, and a little bit of dancing too.
Now if you have been practicing your Hungarian you can listen to Bela explain a bit about Tekero construction and the history of the Tekero in Hungary too.

Now if these kids can play quite well so can everyone, right!
Well it is nice to have a father that makes Tekero's and is a great player and teacher too.
Blusi, Bela's oldest son, has been playing a long time. He is about 14 or 15 now.
Years ago when I was playing with Bela in his workshop, every afternoon his wife would bring Blusi down to play with us. He would sit on her lap with this big Tekero and play the right hand rhythms. He was only about 3 at the time.
There are a lot of very young kids from about 6- 16 that play Tekero in Hungary with many attending camps to learn form the masters. I have also seen some very young and skilful players in France too.
It would be nice to give more kids the chance to play Hurdy Gurdy everywhere. We need a younger generation.
So give those kids a break and let them have a go on your HG. You might just find yourself a new person to play music with.
