I have a "Monarch" Hurdy gurdy for sale built from a kit produced by Mel Dorries of Hurdy Gurdy Crafters. It is well made with mahogany back and sides and a spruce top. It is a four stringed instrument with two chantrelles, a chien/dog, and petit bourdon. It is a chromatic instrument with 23 keys. It has a removeable wheel which is fitted with adjustable bearings, delrin sleeve, etc.. It has two upgrades. It has "peg heds" style of tuners which are geared, mechanical tuners but made to look like traditional tuning pegs. It also has an adjustable chanterelle bridge, although this was never installed. The current chanterrele bridge can be replaced with the adjustable one at any time.
