Hi Alice.
It looks very nice, but I can't find any information about the maker,
Chuck Foster. Do you have any references for him and his work?

Hi, folks. I was hoping that someone on this list had been loooking
for a
really good vielle, and since Craigslist has not gotten any bites
on this, I
thought I would send the address of the website so that you could
see it.

Obviously, I would have to ship it, regardless of what the text
might say.
Cheers,

My anger is not directed at the general membership, who I consider
to be my friends, but to those people who make copies instead of
doing the decent thing and paying. I see there has been no response
agreeing or denying my opinion, but my overall impression is that I
am right in my assumption and that my anger and disappointment are
justified, By being so mean and dishonest they have prevented the
next generation from having use of the book which they have found
so useful. As the book has been available up to now there was no
need to steal it unless, of course, they can't afford an
instrument. While I hope you will all enjoy the forthcoming
`festival I also hope that these people will be discomfited and
sleep badly. As you are on scene perhaps you would enlighten me.
Thanks,
Michael

Hi, Michael!
I can only speak for myself, but I purchased a copy of your Hurdy-
Gurdy
Method (3rd edition) and the supplement CD. If you came out with a new
edition, I would certainly buy it.
I appreciate the work you and Doreen put into writing and revising
such
fine instructional material for our exotic instruments!
Very best regards,

Rockford IL)

Michael,
Maybe one thing to consider is actually going to digital
publication. I know that that sounds like it would be playing right
into the problem you identify, but you could line up a publisher
that would indelibly watermark the copies sold. Each page would
have "This copy licensed to Joe Schmoe" on it and if anyone else
has a copy with that, you would know who "leaked" the copy.

OK Michael,
You want someone to weigh in on this? The general letter was
scathing and caused me to wonder if you are doing alright. I have
never seen even one customer made copy of your book or made one
myself though we are down to our last copy.
Sure it is not fair when someone takes what is not theirs. I would
contend that we as a whole are not that kind of people but we had
to read your venting too. Why not just remind people where to get
the book and then have them when we want them.
I have bought many of them and resold them for you here in the
states at full price as a courtesy to our customers. Now we just
tell people to order it on the net. Some of them have told us that
they cannot get a hold of you.
Isn't it better to build bridges than walls?
Mel

Yes Michael, I also bought a copy off the book from you plus the
CD. It
may be a case that some people were unaware it was still in print and
could still buy it. I hope that was the reason anyway.
