Just wondering, did anyone try this tune and how did it sound on the HG?
I'd really like to be able to tell Marc how it sounded and, if possible,
let him have a recording or a youtube video of it being played. I'm not
able to play my HG at the moment due to health problems so I can't do it
myself.
Thanks,
Colin Hill

I'm afraid I'm not that good on understanding written notation (I got
lost with he notes in front of me and listening to him playing it - my
brain isn't fast enough so I may try Amazing Slow Downer on it!) so
here's him playing it with his son on guitar which should make it
clearer. (Again, permission given and, some years ago, he did make this
recording available for public download on his site).

Colin,
thanks for sharing. The repeats of the piece are not really clear to
me: is it intended to play part A, then part B once with ending 1,
then again part B with ending 2 and in the last round you play ending
3? Or do I have to play
A
B / End 1
A
B/End 2
…..
finally
B/End 3
Hope you can clarify, because the DC doern't really say from where the
Da Capo starts.
Maybe I am just - ahem - stupid?
Cheers.

I've been in contact for a while with a dulcimer player in Canada who
sent me a copy of one of his tunes with he was keen to hear played on
the HG. Unfortunately my condition is now such that it's very
difficult for me to play now. He's given me permission to distribute
his tune amongst my HG friends (as long as anyone playing the tune in
public acknowledges him as the author and, of course, contacts him
should they want to use it in a professional way).
is name is Marc Mathieu and the tune is called "(Playing) Hockey on
the pond". If anyone could play it on the HG and record it so I could
send him a copy I'd be most grateful.
Here's what he said:
"I don't mind if you share my music with your friends. Would love to
hear what they come up with."
Please do remember that the tune is copyright to Marc. I have an mp3
of the tune should anyone wish to hear how he plays it (again,
permission to distribute amongst HG players has been given and he
hasn't made any CDs so he owns all the rights to his music so no toes
to tread on)
