combination of things I think There is (at least one) a facebook group. Its fairly busy, but not the depth of technical info and discussions that used to occur here. Alot of the posts here used to originate with people connected with the Over the Water festival, after the last one in 2010 most of those people seemed to lose interest/drift away/move on to other things. I know there used to be a UK based list also, i never joined it so I cant tell you if it has died also.
The death of this group isnt unique though,the wooden flute, irish music and northumbrian pipes chat groups have also basically vanished also. Other groups i am in have also moved to different venues.
