Greetings Red Hat Worldwide Partners, Red Hat is pleased to announce the availability of the Red Hat v7 hardware test suite Alpha (v7-1.0-26) for software testing purposes with Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 4 and 5.
In addition, partners may begin testing with Red Hat v7 hardware test suite v7-1.0-26 against RHEL 6 test releases when available. Red Hat will officially update the Red Hat v7 hardware test suite before RHEL 6 GA and will let partners know when to begin official RHEL 6 Hardware Certification testing. The Red Hat v7 hardware test suite Alpha (1.0-26) package is not considered an official release and should not be used for official certification testing submissions. The current Red Hat v7 hardware test suite (v7-1.0-18) should continue to be used for official certifications of both Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.x and 5.x. The Red Hat v7 hardware test suite Alpha is available at the following location: ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/ Highlights: * The fv_* tests have been updated to support KVM. * A new rteval test has been added to support performing certifications for the MRG product. * The rteval test requires a newer version of rteval than is currently available in RHN. This package has been made available on the partner ftp site next to the v7 test suite under the ~/RHEL5 tree. * HTS v7 now supports plan time rpm requirement checking; this allow tests to request additional packages when they are planned that may not already be installed on the system using yum. * The alpha package has passed smoke testing on RHEL 5.3 x86, x86_64, and ia64; other releases and architectures have not yet been tested. If you encounter any problems please file any bugs against the 'Red Hat Hardware Certification Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com).
