Red Hat is pleased to announce the availability of the Red Hat Hardware
Certification Policy Guide 6.0-1.0-7 and Hardware Catalog update for
official hardware certification purposes with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
and 6. This updated policy guide (version 6.0-1.0-7) and the policies it
contains supersedes previous versions of the Red Hat Hardware
Certification Policy Guide. The policies contained in the Red Hat
Hardware Certification Policy Guide (6.0-1.0-7) will be applied to new
hardware certifications effective immediately.
The Red Hat Hardware Certification Policy Guide (6.0-1.0-7) is available

Highlights of the Hardware Certification Policy Guide (6.0-1.0-7) include:
* Chapter 5 "Red Hat Enterprise MRG Realtime Certification" of the
policy guide is deprecated. Specifically,
- MRG Realtime certifications are now model based instead of specific
configuration based.
- MRG Realtime certifications are now handled as a supplemental
certification to an original RHEL certification.
These changes combine to reduce the overall testing effort required
by to certify hardware systems against Red Hat Enterprise MRG Realtime.
MRG Realtime certifications are generally performed in-house by Red Hat.
* Tech Preview drivers are now explicitly described as not usable during
certification.

* Minor bug fixes/features outlined in the change log below.
