Greetings Red Hat Partners,

We are pleased to announce the general availability (GA) of the updated Red Hat Hardware Certification Test Suite Kernel Info package (hwcert-client-info-1.7.0-20140502) for certification purposes with RC and GA releases of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0.

The Red Hat Hardware Certification Test Suite Kernel Info package update *is* an official release and should be used for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 certification submissions. The current Red Hat Hardware Test Suite (hwcert-client-1.7.20140416) for RHEL 7 should continue to be used for official certifications with the updated Hardware Certification Test Suite Kernel Info package. Passing results with the previous Test Suite Kernel Info package will continue to be accepted.

The Red Hat Hardware Certification Test Suite Kernel Info package update is available at the following location:

Highlights of the hwcert-client-info-20140502 test suite kernel info include:

* The hwcert-client-info package kernel matching is updated to provide a more general match for RHEL 7 RC and anticipated RHEL 7 GA kernels. This general match will result in a warning on the info test, which will not affect the eligibility of the results. Results submitted that are not performed on an RC or GA RHEL7 release kernel will not be accepted for certification.

The hwcert-client-info-1.7.0-20140502 GA package has been tested against the RHEL 7.0 Release Candidate on the x86_64, ppc64, and s390x architectures. If you encounter any problems, please file bugs against the 'Red Hat Hardware Certification Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com).

Changelog between hwcert-client-info-1.7.0-20140416 GA and hwcert-client-info-1.7.0-20140502 update:

1088336 - updated RHEL 7 kernel values for more generic matching
