Greetings Red Hat Partners,
We are pleased to announce the general availability (GA) of an updated
Red Hat Hardware Certification Test Suite package,
hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140817, for certification purposes with GA
releases of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x.
This Red Hat Hardware Certification Test Suite package update *is* an
official release and should be used for all new Red Hat Enterprise Linux
6.x certification submissions. Passing results from the previous test
suite (hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140611) will continue to be accepted for
a period of 90 days. Please note that an updated version of the
hwcert-client-info package is not required for this test suite update.
Testers should use the current info package
(hwcert-client-info-1.6.5.2-20140611) along with the updated test suite.
The updated Red Hat Hardware Certification Test Suite package is
available at the following location:

It will also be available at the partners FTP site at a later date. We
will send a follow-up mail when it can be downloaded from the FTP site.
Highlights of the hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140817 package include:
* Earlier versions of the hwcert-backend tool did not support the
integrated HDMI audio test on certain audio devices. As a consequence,
running the audio test could fail with the following error message:
"Error: aplay command failed"
This bug has been fixed and tests now execute successfully on all devices.
* Earlier versions of the storage test did not properly plan testing for
SD cards. That has been corrected in this release of the test suite.
The hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140817 package has been tested against RHEL
6.5 on the x86_64, ppc64, and s390x architectures. If you encounter any
problems, please file bugs against the 'Red Hat Hardware Certification
Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com).
