Greetings Red Hat Partners, We are pleased to announce the general availability (GA) of Red Hat Certification 7.29 and its associated test suite package updates (listed below). This Red Hat Certification package update *is* an official release and should be used for all new Red Hat certification submissions. Successful results from the previous certification test suite will be accepted for a period of 90 days.
The updated Red Hat Certification packages listed below are available on the Red Hat Customer Portal at the following location: https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/282/ redhat-certification-7.29-20210603.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-backend-7.29-20210603.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-baremetal-7.29-20210603.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-cloud-7.29-20210603.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-cloud-sap-7.29-20210603.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-hardware-7.29-20210603.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-hardware-preview-7.29-20210603.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-openstack-7.29-20210603.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-software-7.29-20210603.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-7.29-20210603.1.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-backend-7.29-20210603.1.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-baremetal-7.29-20210603.1.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-cloud-7.29-20210603.1.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-cloud-sap-7.29-20210603.1.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-hardware-7.29-20210603.1.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-hardware-preview-7.29-20210603.1.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-openstack-7.29-20210603.1.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-backend-7.29-20210603.1.el6.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-cloud-7.29-20210603.1.el6.noarch.rpm The Red Hat Certification management interface on Red Hat Partner Connect, which is available at https://rhcert.connect.redhat.com, has been updated to use these packages. This release includes enhancements and bug fixes as follows: Improvements Program Details Hardware Certification Uncore subtest now only executes on supported architectures - The uncore subtest in the profiler test now only runs on x86_64 architectures. The profiler test will continue to test the core performance counters on ppc64le, s390x, and aarch64 architectures. - This replaces the earlier behavior where the subtest exited with a PASS state when run on unsupported architectures. Hardware Certification Turbostat subtest now only executes on supported architectures - The turbostat subtest in the cpuscaling test now only runs on Intel x86_64 processors. - This replaces the earlier behavior where the subtest exited with a WARN state when run on unsupported architectures. Hardware Certification Automatic planning of individual Bluetooth tests based on the controller version - The Bluetooth test now uses the hciconfig command to detect the controller version and accordingly plans the respective test: bluetooth3, bluetooth4, or bluetooth5. - A corresponding bluetooth device supporting the same bluetooth major version is required. Bug fixes Program Details Hardware Certification USB3 test now shows correct device speed on multi-lane devices - The usb3_20gbps test now includes the tx/rx lane values when calculating the device speed. These values were previously not considered while calculating the device speed resulting in an incorrect device speed being reported on multi-lane devices. This issue is now fixed. Hardware Certification Work around a known issue in the sosreport and kernel tests - In RHEL 7.6+ releases, the sosreport test could cause the kernel to be tainted. This happens when the sosreport command calls bpftool which is Technology Preview in RHEL 7.6. This would then result in the kernel test reporting a FAIL. - The kernel test now considers this situation and reports a REVIEW instead of FAIL if the kernel appears to be tainted due to this issue. See Red Hat Knowledge Base solution 4544501 <https://access.redhat.com/solutions/4544501> for more information on this issue. We value your ongoing participation in Red Hat certification, software development, and testing efforts. Thank you for your continued partnership. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact Ecosystem Partner Management. Regards, The Red Hat Certification Team
