Greetings Red Hat Partners, We are pleased to announce the general availability (GA) of the first release of the Red Hat Certification 8.x series, redhat-certification 8.35 and the associated test suite packages (listed below).
This Red Hat Certification package update *is* an official release and should be used for all new Red Hat certification submissions. Successful results from the previous certification test suite will be accepted for a period of 90 days. This first release of the Red Hat Certification 8.x series, redhat-certification 8.35, coincides with the release of redhat-certification 7.35. A separate announcement will be sent for redhat-certification 7.35. Please note that redhat-certification 8.35 does not include .el7 builds and does not support certification testing of RHEL 7 and corresponding products. The previous release of the Red Hat Certification 7 may continue to be utilized for certification testing of RHEL 8 and corresponding products certifications per the normal 90 days window. To summarize the change using the language of local test server (LTS) and system under test (SUT), redhat-certification 7.35 will continue to function as an LTS on RHEL 7 for testing of a SUT running RHEL 7 or RHEL 8, but it cannot be installed on a RHEL 8 SUT. For testing of a RHEL 8 SUT you will need to install the redhat-certification 8.35 packages on the SUT. Alternatively the Red Hat Certification hosted environment ( https://rhcert.connect.redhat.com) may be used in place of an LTS for requesting new certs, uploading results, engaging in dialog and managing your certifications. The updated Red Hat Certification packages listed below are available on the Red Hat Customer Portal at the following location: https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/282/ redhat-certification-8.35-20211005.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-backend-8.35-20211005.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-baremetal-8.35-20211005.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-cloud-8.35-20211005.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-cloud-sap-8.35-20211005.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-hardware-8.35-20211005.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-hardware-preview-8.35-20211005.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-openstack-8.35-20211005.1.el8.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-software-8.35-20211005.1.el8.noarch.rpm The Red Hat Certification management interface on Red Hat Partner Connect, which is available at https://rhcert.connect.redhat.com, has been updated to use these packages. This release includes enhancements and bug fixes as follows: New features Program Details Hardware Certification Added a preview of the firmware test. - The preview firmware test checks if a system is following best practices by validating if the firmware meets HSI-1 Level standards.. - The test is currently offered as a technology preview in the redhat-certification-hardware-preview package. Improvements Program Details Cloud Certification The configuration test now allows either the nftables or the firewalld service to be enabled - The configuration test may fail on newer RHEL 8 images if both the nftables and firewalld services were not enabled.A recent bug fix in the RHEL system <https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/8/html-single/8.3_release_notes/index#bug-fix_networking>, changes the services to now be mutually exclusive. The configuration test will now check if either of the services is enabled instead of requiring both. Reminder - End of minor release announcements With the multiple mechanisms and methods to keep partners informed and systems up to date, Red Hat will stop sending these regular update messages about Red Hat Certification minor update releases. We will send one additional Red Hat Certification errata update announcement after this announcement to provide an adjustment period for those that rely on this email for information about incremental changes. Red Hat will continue to send announcements for special and high impact events. We value your ongoing participation in Red Hat certification, software development, and testing efforts. Thank you for your continued partnership. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact Ecosystem Partner Management. Regards, The Red Hat Certification Team
