Greetings Red Hat Partners, The partner ftp download used by the redhat-certification (rhcert) test suite to download the FV guest images and other associated files used by the fv_* tests will no longer be available at the end of August 2023.
This change will be a change in the distribution method and associated automated download code in rhcert for the FV guest image files. This change will not impact the files themselves. Any images you have downloaded to conduct certification testing will remain valid through the established certification lifecycle policies. We have updated rhcert in redhat-certification-8.65, released in July, to minimize the impact on you. However, the FV certification tests may stop working if you do not take action before access to the partner ftp service is disabled. The required action will depend on your testing environment, as outlined below: - If you are using redhat-certification-8.65 or later where the environment can reach https://access.redhat.com the test suite will download the FV images automatically as it does today with no interruption. - If you upgrade an established testing environment to redhat-certification-8.65 or later, the FV testing will continue to work as it does today using the already downloaded files. - If you are using redhat-certification-8.64 or earlier, including all versions of redhat-certification-7.x, where the FV images are not already downloaded, we will make the images available from https://rhcert.connect.redhat.com/ where they can be downloaded and then placed manually onto the system under test in the /var/lib/libvirt/images/ directory. We value your ongoing participation in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Certification efforts and thank you for your continued partnership. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact the Red Hat Certification Operation Team through the Red Hat Partner Acceleration Desk, in your certification, or directly at cert-ops at redhat.com. Regards, The Red Hat Certification Team
