I hope someone can answer this for me.

In Pattern mode I have made my 16 "patterns". Now what I want to do is
"play" the song live. Meaning start a recorder and just play it like I
would like, hitting mute on some tracks, while it's going. Once it's
"recorded" I want to be able to go back and play with the effects of the
different tracks. Is this possible? I have used Pattern Chain mode to
attempt this, but I can't put mutes in there. All I can do it "list" the
patterns to play. I can then convert that to a song. (Yes, I know you can
overdub mutes, and that makes this harder).

How do other approach this? I finally made enough patterns to make a song,
and am excited to get to my next step. The reason I must have mutes is
because tracks 12-16 have breaks, etc to transition into the next pattern.
Like a cymbal crash, etc. and I need to mute it the first time the 8 bar
pattern is played, but I want it to hit at 16 then go to the next pattern.

Any info would be appreciated.
