I finally figured out why I've been getting so confused lately... there
seems to be a wierd bug with program changes and outboard equipment that
only shows up if you assign a midi channel to a track that is diferent
to the track number.

When you twiddle the knob from the voice screen, the RM1-X sends a PC
message to the midi port, but using the channel id of the track, not the
one designated in setup. However, if you do something on the RM1X like
undo a job or start a realtime record, it sends the PC message to the
channel used in midi setup. I believe the latter behaviour is the
correct one- one of the them is defintely wrong.

The JP-8000 doesn't like changing its midi channels- it wants to be
channels 1 and 2. The RM1-X likes to have drums on the lower 8 tracks.
I guess the JP-8000 wins this time.

Of course, the really annoying thing is I have been using MIDI-OX as a
midi thru. I guess it doesn't heard to read what it actually says rather
than what I expect it to say :-)
