I've enclosed 10 drum patterns, this is equal to 160 drum loop/sequences for your RM1x, so plenty to get your tracks moving.

To use these simply copy them onto a floppy and load them into your user patterns. (do not copy direct to a floppy though as there is an included HTML instruction file within the zip should anyone like to add these free patterns to their web site (or for anyone whos new to using the RM1x). Once loaded into your RM1x, you should then (while listening to the looped sequences) adjust the tempo until your happy and also change the Drum Kit if desired (most patterns have been programmed using the standard drum kit, but they all sound great with other kits too....so find one that suits the type of track your looking to work on)

Once you have a good sounding loop, you can then adjust the harmonize settings (on both knobs) for very interesting FX, you can also change the pitch (but I would only recommend that you slightly change the pitch, unless you are aiming for something different) Also try using the other knobs, as you can achieve some very cool sounding loops that put the original loop to shame.

Once you have something thats looping nicely then you can either copy this sequence to another user location for you to continue working on or you can work on the loops where they already are (remember, you cant destroy the originals because they will be saved on disk, so go mental with the loops, thats what they are there for!)

For instance trying adding a few notes from a pad voice.......you'll find a track already beginning to take shape, then adding a melody is easy.....or try adding a bassline (remember to adjust fx, as the bassline might sound dry)

All loops have been programmed using one track, so there are another 15 tracks to build on.

just remember, drum loops are the easiest part of programming tracks (at least for me anyway) and they do get boring programming them, so now I've helped you with the boring aspects of building a tune, get with the good parts and start building upon them.

These loops are free........I have many many more.  I programmed and catalogued these shortly after buying the RM1x, so that I could just load in a loop and start building a tune without having to fuck about........they do give your mental blocks a huge boost.

The other patterns that I've programmed will not be available however.  Why should I do all the hard work!!

however I am thinking about creating an RM1x site devoted to drum loops, so that you can load them and play instantly, but I might sell the other volumes. Although they will be set in specific genres etc., as these free patterns have just been thrown onto a disk without any thought to how they should be laid out next to each other.  The site will also contain this free volume that is included in this email.

If you are interested in buying these other volumes then let me know.

Anyway, stop reading this, load them into your RM1x now and get grooving.

have fun.

regards,

Miko.

THESE LOOPS MAY BE ADDED TO YOUR WEB SITE OR DISTRIBUTED FOR FREE.  THESE LOOPS MUST NOT BE SOLD IN ANY FORM. IF YOU USE THESE LOOPS THEN I'D APPRECIATE YOU SEND ME A COPY OF THE TRACK THAT THEY ARE IN OR LET ME KNOW VIA EMAIL THAT YOU HAVE USED THEM.
