I think I know what you're talking about. If you set a note shift for a
track, the note shift will take effect as soon as you press that section's
button, regardless of if you have "1 Measure" set in the Utility menu. I
believe this is a bug on Yamaha's part, and hopefully it will be fixed in a
future O.S. release. However, there are several work-arounds to this bug.
The most straight forward aproach is to make sure you don't press a
section's button until the last 16th note of a measure. A more practical
approach is to edit your user phrases so that a note-shift isn't necessary,
however, keep in mind that if you were trying to use one phrase as a chord
progression via note shifting, then you will have to make a new user phrase
for each part of the progression. If you find it too combersome to go
through the edit menu and manually transpose all the notes in your phrase,
you can instead try to insert a pitch shift of the appropriate ammount at
the beggining of the phrase.
For those of you who don't understand what I'm talking about in the above
paragraph, here's how to duplicate the bug. First make sure you're RM1X is
set to switch between sections at the end of a measure, and not on the next
1/16 note. Then in Section A set Track 1 to be any pattern. Do the same
thing for Section B. Leave the note shift for Track 1 in Section A at 0,
but set the note shift to some other value for Track 1 in Section B. Now,
start playing Section A, and in the middle of a measure, press the button
for Section B. You should notice that the note shift for Section B takes
place the moment you press the button, and not at the end of the measure.
Later.
