grid input...does it or not??!!

Both this list,and the teklab forum,have had questions about 
hearing other tracks while recording in grid mode.
Answers have ranged from "no,it won't work", "yes if you press play 
2x", "yes,if you press play after record","yes,if you have the right 
OS version,otherwise,no",and maybe other responses.
  I don't yet own an RM1x,but am curious about this functionality,or 
lack of...(otherwise I'd try these many suggestions,and know for 
myself if they worked!)
