Hi, I am definitely getting one.. but I would like to ask one last
question about this item before I do (yes, this is from my
recent Digital Hell post defending the rm1x, as I wrote this
I decided it would make a nice question for this list to
see what specific items I was referring towards):
---
I am looking for a sequencer that can play back complex arrangements,
but also something that will let me interface with the data live..
in ways more complex than pattern changing and mutes ..
this will become even more dynamic (for me) if they allow
switching between write-play and song play modes
without stopping playback (something I have tried only a handful of
times, but enjoyed).
---
Ok, what I am getting at is: aside from mutes, and the pattern changing
thing, what other features can I drag up on a moments notice
to invigorate a live jam (picture myself walking into my studio
late at night, drunk .. smelling like cheap cigarettes and woman..
I turn my gear on and decide to make sound using prewritten
data.. how unique of an experience can this be* ;)..
I know about most (I think, but this machine seems to have a lot
of hidden options).. I'd just like to see them listed concisely for once.
It would be AMAZINGLY cool if you could draw from a list of other
parts (i.e. different patterns for a single track) lurking in the
machines memory (user or presets) WHILE the sequence was
playing (building/mixing old elements LIVE without having to
actually write them in or stop the sequence).... You *Can* do this
while the machine is stopped, right?
ohh well.. I hope this makes sense..

*= I know this part of my question is quite stupid.. as long as my
external sounds a different, it will have a different feel.. but,
even if I kept them the same.. how much of a live REmix machine
is this box?
