There is one kind of sneaky hack you can do. Use the clock shift job (or
knob) to shift your pattern one half bar, and then "normalize play fx" the
pattern, and the stuff that lies outside of the bar (and would currently
get looped around to the other side) gets chopped off. You'll now have a
pattern that is one half silence, and the other half will be the pattern
you want. Cut and paste this now and i think you can get the half bar
pattern (doubled in one bar, as that's the minimum phrase length) thing you
want.
