Welcome. I'm yet another RM1x/SU700 user, and I'll do my best to help you. Another
message I sent talks about the type of RAM to use. And, unfortunately, it's takes
some figuring out to change the settings of windows/IE to do foreign characters, so
sorry about no / on the last "o" in your name :) Your music styles sound interesting;
I'll have to have a listen in the near future. The RAM is relatively easy to pop in.
See the appendix of the manual. Just like dropping RAM in a PC.
As far as the internal zip drive in the SU700, a few of us SU700 users have replaced
the internal floppy (built into SU700) with an internal SCSI ZIP100 drive. You still
need the ASIB1 SCSI board for the SU700. You just use an internal connector and cable
that comes with it to connect the internal zip. Unfortunately, that also means you no
longer have a floppy drive to import/export .AIF samples from/to. But it makes the
SU700 more portable since you don't have to drag around an external zip drive, SCSI
cable, and wall-wart power supply.
It's not that hard to replace the internal floppy with the ZIP. But doing so is not
necessarily authorized by Yamaha and you may void your warranty; do so at your own
risk. Internal SCSI ZIP drives tend to run the same as external SCSI ZIPs: around
