I like your idea. I'm still new to the whole synth/VA world, although 14
years ago I took piano lessons and then played drums for 3 years. I'm still
grasping the whole "programming" thing, but I'm totally down for writing a
song together then publishing it with a tutorial. The RM1x is definitely
the strongest outboard sequencer for creating drum loops and rolls. One
album you should listen to for learning [and listening to from a techno
musician's perspective] is Lords of Acid 'Lust'. You should be able to find
it anywhere [Tower Records, Best Buy]. It was released in 1991 [and
re-released in 1996 with extra tracks] and if I remember correctly, was the
first REAL full length techno album released in the U.S.. Take my word for
it, it's worth listening to over and over so you can get a grasp on writing
music. I don't know how to explain it!
