Wasted - That sounds great to me!
I am on ftp.teklab.com right now and see a QY_RM1x directory, but no pattern
directory below it. I'm not sure how to get the pattern up on the
samplelibrary.net. Anyone know how? Jay, can you make a section for the
"RM1x List Song/Tutorial"?
I can place Loop1.r1p up there for anyone that wants it. Granted, I didn't
do a tutorial for it since it really is nothing big - it was very simple.
But, if there's a newbie out there that can't even get that far, I'd be
happy to write up a .txt file that explains what I did step by step. Then
we could just zip the pattern and text file together and put it up on the
samplelibrary section.
If someone wants to start with a new pattern, or maybe even base the song of
a pre-made pattern, that'd be fine with me to. I know we all have different
taste in music....
It'd be nice if the person that was going to add to the loop copied
everything to section B and added their stuff, or made more than one new
section. The most important part of all of this would be to explain how and
what you did, maybe even why you did it. So that we could all learn.
And, if this doesn't work out as planned maybe just a few of us can do it
off the list, then post what we've made when we are done.
Thanks,
Mike

experts alike. I just got mine at Christmas time and still have a lot to
learn about it's intricacies. I was used to programming the RY20
drummachine previously so I have some experience and ideas but adding synth
and basslines, etc. to fill out the mix is still a grey area for me. One
that I mostly play by ear. You can count me into the collaboration. That
might help me to understand the powerful features of the RM1x better. I
still am only halfway through the manual so I'd better dig down and spend
some more time with it to understand the unit.

samplelibrary.net site offered through TekLab as a place to post the RM1x
files and MP3's of them. That way you won't have to worry about the 24 hour
problem at the current site you have it housed. There already is a separate
category at samplelibrary.net for RM1x files (patterns [.r1p], all-dumps
[.r1a], songs[.r1s]). It only has a couple files in it now (2 or 3). Let's
fill it up some more by posting our various collaboration materials. We
could download say an .r1p that you started, load it to our RM1x, add
another sound to the sequence (i.e. bassline, brassline, synth lead), resave
the .r1p with a slightly different name, and upload it to the SLN site. And
the next person can add another instrument, etc. from the 1st persons' work.
Ad nausem. Just a thought.
