Hi,

I'm relatively new to the Hx4700 Linux scene, although I've followed
this list for some time.

I have installed Linux from the SDG Systems 20060615-gpe directory:
flashed kernel, rootfs and homedir. The hx4700 booted and the screen
was corrupted: blue and white stripes. I resetted the unit, went into
the bootloader and updated the kernel to the latest Familiar kernel.
Now on boot, the display is okay but WLAN doesn't work. The modules
are loaded and I copied the RADIO*.BIN and WLANGEN.BIN files to
/lib/firmware. Wireless appears to start: wlan0 starts but the kernel
log fills with error messages from the wireless hardware:

"wlan0: start_xmit: txdesc ring is full, dropping tx
acx: BUG: tx_head:0 Ctl8:0x00 - failed to find free txdesc"

After this, I had to reset the device.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? (probably everything..)

In addition, the iPAQ switches itself off after a very short period -
perhaps 30 seconds, although I've configured it to suspend after 10
minutes. Hmm!

Lex
