Hi Robin,

At first, I do not know the solution.

Basically the USB host detects a device if it (the device) pulling one of the data line up usually by 1.5kOhm resistor. Pulling up D+ means it is full speed device and pulling D- means low speed.

So, the below mentioned case happens when a device pulls the line, but after the host sending requests it does not send responses.

The cause can diversifed:

- contact problem (broken wire)
- dead device controller
- and so on...

I don't know whether this can help or not. Firstly you may need to check cable.

I don't manage to connect my ipaq via usb anymore. If I launch the HTC bootloader, and then plug the device I see in my dmesg:

usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 21
usb 1-1: device not accepting address 21, error -71

Then nothing in my lsusb list and no ttyUSB in my /dev.

I tried modprobing usbserial and ipaq modules but no change.

If someone could help...

Robin
