Hi,

I just realized that there is a version of Skype for ARM based machines that runs Linux.

Unfortunately it is released for Nokia's N800 only. AFAIK this "tablet" powered by some kind of ARMv6 processor, oppositely of HX4700's ARMv5TE.

I don't know whether they using a compiler which utilize v6 additional features or not.

There s 3 executable in the .deb package, skyhost, skype and vengine. The latter 2 needs additional shared libraries which I have no. However skyhost runs after I start it.

So:

1. If we (compile and) install the missing packages (libs) maybe we can run Skype on HX4700 (and other) PDAs.

2. Even if the above is not possible Skype Ltd. guys (or Nokia?) are able to release a version which can run on many PDAs
