the test_off.sh script is repeatably unsuccessful on my machine if i try to run it after a reboot. i lose the ability to turn the discrete card off or on; loading/unloading the acpi_call module does not help. however, it will run successfully if i shutdown and then manually power the machine back on. the most interesting part is that running a "test_on.sh" script prior to rebooting solves this problem.
my machine is a sager np5160 (aka clevo w150hnq). it has an i7 sandy bridge 2630QM processor and an nvidia 540m. i know of another user with the same machine who is experiencing similar symptoms. --lars
