Are you working on this?

I think the problem may actually be "pointer caching."  (See [1].)  While 
they say "deprecated for 2.0" -- I think when the buffer size changes, 
JACK will internally reallocate buffers... meaning that our cached buffer 
pointers are now invalid.

This is unrelated to the 'buffersize' issue.

One more issue:

We talked about removing the 'ardour transport workaround.'  I was in 
favor of removing it, what do you think?

I don't want to rule it out for 0.9.4... but I doubt it will be done in
