I will test them out again but my previous tests with them didn't look anything like that mockup. I have heard good things about seq24 recently though and I need to revisit them all. > In fact, it's > just a different face on what H2 already does. People are begging for an Open sourced alternative to AL and imo Hydrogen is one of the best placed apps and most capable groups of developers positioned to deliver that lofty goal. It's simply about doing it because we can not because we have to. Of course there is time considerations too so I don't see it as a priority. While thinking about it more over the past 24 hours there is a possibility that this ui could be served by a stand alone sampler app that can trigger any jack/midi app. The main reasoning behind suggesting building it into Hydrogen is that existing AL users expect a single app that can do everything instead of a whole lot of individual apps. However it would also be very powerful to be able to independently trigger a tX loop, zynadd synth, hydrogen loop and Ardour session from a single interface. Maybe that's where lash will really come into it's own. Although I'm not sure how well a system would standup to having all those different ui's running at the same time for live performance. Having a single cohesive environment like Hydrogen taking care of the ui and signal paths would probably result in more stability. > IIRC, Ableton Live has the vertical columns as a group as well... so that > you can trigger an entire column if you want.
