Hmmm.. I don't know if it's really neccessary to avoid every scrolling. 
That would give us more problems..
Think of the following use-case:

I'm writing my songs at home with a tft monitor at a very high 
resolution. So it is possible for me to use, say, 10 loops.
But on the stage i'm performing with a netbook, which is only able to 
use 5 loops . What about the other 5? Shoud we really prevent someone 
from editing those loops?
So i'm not sure if even all the netbook people would welcome such a 
design..

Optimizing the layout for netbooks is ok, but restricting the layout 
goes a little bit too far in my opinion.
