git is awesome. If there is any way I can help you move to git by all means let me know. Subversion is a dirty pig. Anyone who hasn't seen it already should seriously check out Linus' git talk at Google in 2007, where he describes his motivation for creating git. Some people don't get his sense of humour and wrongly think he is very insulting, but he is dead on that SVN is designed around a broken paradigm. >> and I checked out the tab >> interface code via git-svn after already grabbing it with svn. >> >> I am also a pretty good drummer who picked up the guitar and am at the >> intermediate stage with it. I will put it in the patches directory > for the users of older distributions/portmidi packages. <snip> I have done some investigating, and it does look like Mandriva is using a much older portaudio, which surprises me, but I'm sure there is a reason. I will try to find out from the Mandriva guys what is going on, as I sometimes file bugs in their bugzilla and have the means to do so. I'm going to hold off on sending the patch until I see if I can just get Mandriva to use a more recent Portaudio, since "just update your distribution to the latest version" is always a better answer than "download the source, apply this Mandriva 2010 specific patch, build the source, and install it - and BTW be careful not to overwrite your system libs" every time ;-) > Thanks for nice feedback!! > - Sebastian > It has been a pleasure. BTW - Are you the same Sebastian Moors I found on Google that works for the company that Dr. Hoffman worked at when he invented LSD-25 back in 1938? <snip> I have lots going on, so there may be significant delays in my responses and progress, but lets just pretend I'm going for a severe flange effect ;-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Download Intel® Parallel Studio Eval Try the new software tools for yourself.
